Entry level	Courses that help you with life skills, basic skills, and skills for working life. They give you basic knowledge and skills applied to everyday situations.
Level 1	GCSEs grade D-G, Foundation Diploma, BTEC Introductory Diplomas/Certificates, NVQ 1, Key Skills level 1 and Skills for Life.
Level 2	GCSEs grades A*-C, Higher Diploma, BTEC First Diplomas/Certificates, NVQ 2, OCR Nationals, Key Skills Level 2 and Skills for Life.
Level 3	A Levels, Advanced Extension Awards, Advanced Diploma, BTEC Diplomas/Certificates/Awards, BTEC Nationals, NVQ 3, OCR Nationals, International Baccalaureate, Key Skills Level 3. (You should already have a level 2 qualification e.g. GCSE, NVQ2 etc).
Level 4	BTEC Professional Award/Diploma/Certificate , NVQs, Key Skills Level 4
Level 5	Foundation Degrees, HND/HNC, BTEC Higher National Diploma. (You should already have a level 3 qualification e.g. A Level, BTEC ND, NVQ 3 etc).
Level 6	Honours Degrees, National Diploma In Professional Production Skills; BTEC Advanced Professional Diplomas/Certificates/Awards.
Level 7	Qualifications above degree or NVQ level e.g. Postgraduate Certificate or Diploma, Masters Degree, Doctorate, other specialist qualifications.
Level 8	Qualifications above degree or NVQ level e.g. Postgraduate Certificate or Diploma, Masters Degree, Doctorate, other specialist qualifications.
